Jewellery Care

Sourced from all over the world, and crafted using natural gemstones and precious metals, your JJDR jewellery requires a little care and attention to keep it looking its best. These simple jewellery care tips will keep your pieces looking like new.

Storing your jewellery

Store your jewellery separately in its original fabric-lined box or pouch to prevent scratches and tangling.
Store jewellery away from direct sunlight. The sun may fade some gemstones.
Ideally fine silver jewellery should be stored in an airtight bag (like a Ziploc) to prevent oxidisation/tarnishing. Fortunately you can return luster and shine to silver jewellery by using a soft polishing cloth.

Cleaning your jewellery

Make sure to wipe your gemstones after wear to remove any chemicals, oils or perspiration.
As a rule of thumb, non porous gemstones can be cleaned with warm water, a touch of mild soap and a soft brush. For porous gemstones, swap the soft brush for a soft cloth.
A gold polishing cloth is an effective way to keep gold jewellery looking its best.
Gold Vermeil
Gently clean your gold vermeil jewellery with a soft polishing cloth or even a silver polishing cloth.
Clean your silver jewellery in mild soapy water, ensuring that it is rinsed thoroughly and dried before storing.
Alternatively polish your silver jewellery with a soft polishing cloth.

Reducing wear and tear

Do not expose your jewellery to salt water or domestic chemicals, such as chlorine or detergents. These chemicals may slowly erode the finish and polish of gemstones and some metals.
Hair spray, perfume and perspiration may cause jewellery to become dull. Apply all cosmetics, perfumes and colognes before putting on jewellery.
